My T1D Journey |

Shaunacee Harris checking her Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM), illustrating personal experience and support for those managing diabetes.

When I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, I quickly learned that managing my health was about so much more than just insulin. It was about my emotional health and mental state, too. I struggled with changing my eating habits and often felt defeated after doctor appointments. My family’s good intentions sometimes felt overwhelming, and there were days when I felt truly alone in this journey.

Through therapy, I discovered ways to cope with the emotional ups and downs, and now I help others navigate similar challenges. As someone living with Type 1 diabetes, I understand how overwhelming this journey can be. But I also know the power of finding your balance, both physically and mentally. I’m not just a therapist—I’m someone who truly gets it and is here to support you every step of the way.
